Investigating - A subset of locations is temporarily unable to send SMS text messages due to updated industry compliance requirements.

This only affects locations that:
-Opened on or after January 26, 2026
-Did not have SMS texting set up before January 26, 2026

Locations that had SMS texting set up before January 26, 2026 are not affected.

Our team has submitted a proposed solution to Twilio, the messaging platform used by Club OS.

Once Twilio confirms the solution meets the new requirements, we will release an update to restore SMS texting for impacted locations.

Resolved - ABC Fitness has refunded more than 600 members related to the May 6–7 online signup billing issue.

Locations should continue reviewing their reports and following the verification steps outlined in the Franchise Notice to identify any remaining impacted prospects or members.

For any refund that still needs to be processed, locations should continue using the current refund path:
-Email merchant@abcfitness.com
-CC afteam@abcfitness.com
-Reference the Franchise Notice and state that the refund cannot be processed through the digital membership report because the transaction does not appear there

ABC has completed the primary refund processing effort and continues to support any remaining cases submitted through this path. Location review remains the primary way to identify and resolve any remaining impacted cases.

Investigating - We are continuing follow-up work related to an online signup billing issue that occurred on May 6–7.

During this window, some prospects who retried the online join process after receiving a system error may have been charged more than once, even though their membership agreement did not finalize in the system. The issue appears to be limited to this timeframe.

Clubs should review their reports and follow the verification steps outlined in the Franchise Notice to help identify and support any impacted prospects or members. Clubs may also need to follow up with impacted individuals to validate what happened and help them complete the signup process if needed.


Action may be required from clubs.

The Purpose Brands and ABC teams are continuing resolution work, including an additional verification audit by ABC. Club review remains the primary path to resolution, with the ABC audit serving as an additional verification step.
