We are continuing follow-up work related to an online signup billing issue that occurred on May 6–7.
During this window, some prospects who retried the online join process after receiving a system error may have been charged more than once, even though their membership agreement did not finalize in the system. The issue appears to be limited to this timeframe.
Clubs should review their reports and follow the verification steps outlined in the Franchise Notice to help identify and support any impacted prospects or members. Clubs may also need to follow up with impacted individuals to validate what happened and help them complete the signup process if needed.
Action may be required from clubs. If anyone requires a refund, please email merchant@abcfitness.com and cc afteam@abcfitness.com for assistance. In the email to ABC, reference the Franchise Notice and state that the refund cannot be processed through the digital membership report because the transaction does not appear there.
The Purpose Brands and ABC teams are continuing resolution work, including an additional verification audit by ABC. Club review remains the primary path to resolution, with the ABC audit serving as an additional verification step.
